BITS Pilani, Dubai has conferred DPS Vijayawada with the Global Innovative School
Award 2019 for Innovation in Pedagogy DPS, Vijayawada is the first school in
Vijayawada and in Andhra Pradesh to have received this prestigious award. The Director,
Shri K. Praveen Kumar received the award on behalf of the school on 23 November, 2019.
The Award Ceremony was held at BITS Pilani, Dubai campus, UAE.
This award is presented to schools with exemplary performance in six areas of utmost
importance-Impact, Academic performance, Cultural inclusion, Social awareness,
Innovation in Pedagogy and use of technology. The award consisted of a Citation and a
Trophy for the school. Noteworthy educators and social influencers from the global
community came together for the awards ceremony.
Expressing delight over the award, Shri P. Narendra Babu, Pro- Vice-Chairman of the
School, said that the award has instilled a new sense of responsibility and is a motivating
factor to become one of the leading schools in the world. The Principal, Ms. G. Mala
expressed her happiness on receiving the award and congratulated the staff, students and
parents for their unstinting support.
