The thirteenth Annual Day of DPS was a showcase of how talented the students of DPS are. The five hour event brought to life the colours of childhood, with programs ranging from dances, musical orchestra and a ballet. The bedazzling performances and the giving away of the annual awards was graced by the Chief Guest, Sri. K Satyanarayana,IPS,IG,Police Transport Organisation,AP and the Guest of Honour, Smt K Madhavi Latha,IAS,Joint Collector, Krishna District. The luminaries gracing the occasion included Sri Parimi Narendra Babu, Pro-Vice-Chairman, Directors of the school Smt P.Sunanda, Sri P Pawan Chand and principal, Ms G Mala.
The Chief Guest Shri K. Satyanarayana advised the students to in his address follow their heart. He said, “The world is so wide and offers a lot of opportunities and learning should be translated into living.”
The Guest of Honour exhorted the teachers to inculcate the 3 ‘p’s – Planningm Preparation and Prioritize.
Ms G Mala presented the School Annual Report, highlighting the achievements of the school in all spheres.
Prizes for Full Attendance, Academic Excellence, Best House of the Year, Best Outgoing Student of the Year, Special prizes for remarkable achievement in Sports and cultural fields were distributed. Brahmaputra house was adjudged the Best House of the Year 2019-20, and Farheen Zeba of Class XII was adjudged the Best Outgoing Student of the year 2019-20. Sri Sai Swetha of
class X, an internationally acclaimed ice skating champion received a cheque for Rs. 50,000/- and Vennela Sri Datta of class IX, a Kuchipudi dancer received a cheque for Rs. 25,000/- as special awards.
The cultural programs included a wide range of dances, including a telugu ballet, Garba feast,western mix,a dance depicting the importance of saving nature, airhostess dance and rainbow dance which was a feast to the audience.
The program concluded with a Vote of Thanks and rendition of the National Anthem.
